Search Engine Advertising (SEA) refers to the paid placement of ads in search engine results, such as Google or Bing. Businesses can target ads to increase visibility, attract relevant visitors, and boost conversions.

How does SEA work?

  1. Keyword Targeting: Ads are placed for specific search terms (keywords). When users search for these terms, the ads appear.
  2. Auction & Costs: Placement is determined through a bidding system (Cost-per-Click, CPC). The more a business bids and the higher its relevance, the better position it will receive in search results.
  3. Ad Formats:

  • No Long-Term Effect: Visibility ends once the budget runs out. Unlike SEO, where rankings can be sustained long-term.
  • Optimization Effort: Ads and bids need to be regularly monitored and optimized to achieve the best results.
