Background and Challenge

Children's rooms are magical spaces filled with dreams, play, and discovery. Here, little personalities develop, thoughts grow, and first memories are created. Alpina recognized this special significance and developed "Alpina Farbenfreunde" ("Alpina Color Friends") – wall paints specifically designed for different age groups. From soothing tones for babies to inspiring colors for school children, each shade offers not only aesthetic but also developmental psychological benefits. The challenge was to communicate these thoughtful color concepts to parents in an emotional and understandable way.

 

Approach and Realization

Since 2021, Alpina has employed a creative social media strategy that combines emotion with information. Each shade of Alpina Farbenfreunde bears an animal name – from "Libellenblau" ("Dragonfly Blue") to "Eisbärweiß" ("Polar Bear White"). This naming concept became the core of a charming content strategy: small animated animals, accompanied by gentle music, bring the colors to life. The storytelling works in two stages: the stories only tease the animals without revealing which creature is behind them. The revelation follows in the corresponding 1:1 posts, creating curiosity and increasing reach.

 

Results

The playful approach creates an emotional connection between Alpina and parents. By combining cute animations with informative room imagery, a content format emerges that both inspires and educates. Important messages about child development, color effects, and health are naturally conveyed without being preachy. The two-stage storyline increases engagement and transforms Farbenfreunde into a vibrant, memorable brand experience.
