AI Hallucination
AI Hallucination explained
The difficult combination is persuasive wording without a sound basis. Copy can be grammatical and on-brand while a central statement is wrong. Style review and factual review are therefore different tasks.
Creative drafts may intentionally involve invention. An error occurs when an invented element is presented as real: a customer quotation, test result or supposedly completed project. Such statements need suitable evidence or explicit labelling as examples.
Review begins with the claim. What source would support it? Is the time period correct? Does it concern the same product and audience? Open model-supplied URLs and check their content. Even an existing source can be cited inappropriately.
Source retrieval, clear tasks and technical checks may reduce errors, but cannot guarantee universal accuracy. Published brand communication needs a traceable approval process. We take responsibility for the concept and quality.
Examples
Hypothetical application
An AI draft describes a with a supposed sales increase. The supplied documents contain no such figure. The editor removes the outcome and describes only the supported concept and implementation work.
Key Points
- Persuasive style is not factual evidence.
- Distinguish creative invention from factual claims.
- Check each statement against its source.
Practical application
Mark figures, quotations, promises and project claims in drafts; substantiate or remove each one.
Useful measures
Unsupported claims in the review set
Proportion of examined statements lacking adequate evidence under documented review criteria.
Common mistakes
- Confusing model confidence with accuracy.
- Replacing missing evidence with further unsupported AI answers.

Frequently Asked Questions about AI Hallucination
Not in this error context. In an explicitly fictional story, invention is intentional. The problem is presenting it as a real fact.
It may identify issues but can also be wrong. A second similar answer does not replace independent evidence.
No. Each relevant source must actually support the specific statement and fit its context.
